6th IPCC report

The Synthesis Report of the IPCC's 6th Assessment Report (AR6) is a summary bringing together the state of knowledge detailed in the three special reports and the reports of the three working groups published since 2014.

This summary therefore brings together the latest information on climate change and its impacts, as well as on mitigation and adaptation measures.

The summary report is divided into four parts. The first part takes stock of the current situation. The second part looks at future climate change and the risks associated with it. The third part presents the long-term responses that can be put in place, while the fourth part focuses on the immediate responses specific to each sector.

The report highlights the interdependence between climate, ecosystems, biodiversity and human societies. It also highlights the close links between adapting to climate change, mitigating its effects, the health of ecosystems, human well-being and sustainable development. It also reflects the growing diversity of players involved in climate action.

The IPCC warns that the scale and speed of current action are insufficient to tackle climate change. However, it stresses that there are many feasible and effective options for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and thereby limiting the damage caused to humans and ecosystems. Despite the challenges, there is still hope for creating a safer and more sustainable world by building resilience through mitigation and adaptation strategies.

It is also necessary to support these new directions while managing the financial transition with public and private institutions. Massive investment is essential to support the development of our current and future economies.
